Résumé :

“Edmund Burke is commonly described as ‘the founder of modern conservatism’, but this has not always been the case – especially in his adopted country of Britain. This paper explores his transformation from Irishman and Whig politician to ‘Burkean conservative’ through the politics, thought, and literature produced and consumed in Britain during the century following his death.”
